It is very strange that Laduja is accusing us not to build such institutions
in Luwero. And I know I have already stated that we do not need a peace hall in
Luwero because we are not as violent as Acholi. On record there has never been
a single anger management course in Luwero that I know of, it is actually
Acholi/Langi that have driven our country to such lows. But we have suffered a
great deal and we have walked through atrocities as those that were done in
Luwero by both UNLA goons and Movement thugs. We started from there to build
and it is a very long way but unlike in Acholi land, schools in Luwero are open
and kids are reading. That is what Luwero did. But I need Laduja to list me the
institutions they have built in Acholi land as Acholi. For when you look at
what they have as institutions it is massively built by other people than
Acholi. Schools belong to Uganda government, as hospitals and large
institutions. Major investments in The North were done by The Combon fathers.
Let us do a simple math let us close all government institutions that are in
Acholi land and the ones built by The Combon fathers, what do you have actually
left? I have been there, and this summer I am coming to Uganda and I am going
to go to The North as well as one of my stop points, as I proceed to West Nile
to see those that you failed to decapitate.

Which puts me on the reasoning of Mr. Whitaker, every institution built for
Acholi has been destroyed by Acholi, They have attacked every single government
institution to the ground, they have attacked schools of their own children,
they have raped their own children as happened in Aboke, they have attacked but
destroyed their very own hospitals and clinics. What reasoning does Whitaker
use to think Acholi will not destroy the peace hall? If whatever The Combon
fathers built was destroyed as such, what kind of reasoning states that Acholi
will not destroy what Whitaker builds? Has anyone seen any initiative out of
Acholi to protect public property anywhere in Uganda whether in Acholi land or
out of Acholi land?

So I will not even bother about the peace center, for Whitaker is going to
build it and Acholi are going to put it down. Been there seen that already.

EM, why don't you build such a centre in these places? Why do you want others
to do your job for you? Go ahead and build a peace centre in Luweero, let the
Hollywood actor build his peace centre in Acholi land Gulu.

Well if we do not have Acholi violence, why is it only in Gulu where a peace
center is built? Luwero for God’s sakes had a massive war, many people were
murdered, why not build it in Luwero? There was a massacre in Ombaci most of
the people that survived in West Nile out of the Acholi violence actually
abandoned West Nile to South Sudan and Eastern DRC, The Ombaci massacre is
internationally recognized, why not build the center in Arua? Kanungu had a
massacre such massive one, hey why not build a center for peace in Kanungu?
Western Uganda had so many attacks including the murdering of students of a
Seventh Day Adventist school near Ruwenzori, that I forget the name, why not
built it there? Why in all analysis Acholi deserve a peace center in Gulu? And
here we are with Acholi bringing a first peace center in our country, we have
Acholi becoming the first suspect in The Hague.

May be Acholi are really violent people.
   Just a may be !!!!!

Gulu.

American actor Forest Whitaker who starred as ex-Ugandan president Idi Amin in
the movie Last King of Scotland, is funding charity works in post-war northern
Uganda including building of a peace centre in Gulu.

Mr Whitaker was in Gulu in February to promote the work of the charity, Starkey
Foundation, that gives hearing aids to people who cannot afford to buy them or
are not aware of their existence.

Mr Godfrey Otobi Orach, the Uganda country coordinator for Whitaker Peace and
Development Initiative, said Mr Whitaker was in Uganda to support the work of
Starkey Foundation as part of the charity he has been doing in the country for
the past four years.

According to Mr Otobi, among other projects initiated are training of youth in
ICT, voluntary works, games and sports and peace building.

“Since 2012, at least 30 young people in the post-conflict Acholi sub-region
and Kiryadongo District have benefitted from the initiative in similar
trainings,” he said.

The charity will also train the District Peace and Reconciliation Team in a bid
to promote peace and harmony among the resettling communities both returning
from internally displaced camps and captivity.

Tolerance is a stage in civilisation!
