[UM-LINUX] Audigy on Fedora Core 3

I have installed a Audigy II Platinum soundcard on a dual opteron system 
running Fedora Core 3.  By installing the
lastest drivers etc. from the ALSA web site I can now play wav files 
through the front headphone jacks.  Nothing out of the rear line level 
ouput jack (on the sound card).  Also I cannot play CD's in my CD drives 
(as near as I can tell the sound output cables from both drives are 
correctly connected to the sound card, and the CD play program starts, 
just no sound) any suggestions as to how I can rectify this situation?
