Just in case you guys don't know about this service, I think those of you reading this thread will find it helpful:
www.mailinator.com makes it really easy to have "throw away" email addresses for times when you need to sign up for some web service, post a quick question on a forum, etc.. and don't want the whole world to get your email address. All you do is enter [EMAIL PROTECTED] and it creates a temporary account under that user name. Then you can go to their website and check for that confirmation email, etc. The emails disappear after a few hours (I think it's somewhere between 6 and 24, not really sure)--so really you can only use it for truly throw away stuff. Also, no passwords or security are involved, so clearly, don't do anything with your financials or otherwise vital information because anyone can log in to the inbox. I'm in no way involved with them, but it's a neat service that proves useful time and again. -- Christopher Conroy
