Thanks.  Its funny that you mention Ubuntu 7.10.  I wish I had read your
email from Saturday, because Sunday night I tried to install 7.10 on the
Dell Inspiron 2500.  I could not even get the Live CD to boot.  Probably
because Ubuntu 7.10 requires 384MB ram to run , and I'm pretty sure that I
have only 256MB.  Unfortunately the laptop only has about a 10GB HDD.  I
picked up the Ubuntu 7.10 at FOSE, but I think I have some older versions
of Ubuntu laying around, so I'll try that tonight.
