(b) a + b # b + a is a general, but not universally true, statement for ordinal numbers, the simplest example being Ο = 1 + Ο β Ο + 1 (c) You're talking about a folding, not a normalisation. The example you want would use emboldening, e.g. "In general, π + π π β π + π" which is true for vectors π π and π if one is treating the quaternions as a direct sum of reals and real 3-vectors.
