You know, i've seen two messages today from people unsubscribing to these
listserves, presumably because of the volume of mail. I feel bad people
are removing themselves from these great sources of discussion and
information.
you can get a free email account on yahoo or hotmail or something like
that and use it specifically for listserves. that way you can check it at
your leisure without worrying about all these emails clogging the inbox in
your main email account.
Also, many mail programs (even elm) can be used to automatically sort
incoming mail into folders. So, for example, everything that came from the
univ-city list could be diverted into a folder just for that purpose,
instead of filling your inbox, and you could read it all when you get
around to it.
last, some lists have a "digest" option, which sends you all the messages
from that day in one big email at the end of each day. does anyone know
if there is such an option for the lists on purple.com?
