People often unsubscribe when prompted by mail. People rarely unsub
from a quiet list. I wouldn't draw the causal link so easily.

I guess it falls to me to answer that.

The server is capable of it, but I don't believe I've ever turned it
on, since most email clients offer this sort of sorting. And it avoids
the very annoying replies to "Re: digest #348" and the weird time skew
that happens from digests.
