Ooops, my bad (again) on the cd issue.

Regarding the router it's a broadband router so it is connected
directly to the cable modem and internet. The MDK running slimserver
(to be hidden away eventually) will be directly wired to the router,
and the other MDK machine will be via a wireless connection.

That NTFS issue looks like being a problem. I do have an old copy of
Partition Magic floating around so I'll check it to see if it can
convert the filesystem over to ext3.

Currently the machines are set up as:
MDK with 13Gb HD on 800Mhz AMD Duron/384 RAM now running slimserver.
XP with 120Gb HD + 200Gb (FLAC/OGG/MP3) on Intel P4 2.66Ghz/512RAM

Hopefully I'll get things going as:
MDK with 13Gb HD + 200Gb (FLAC/OGG/MP3) on the Intel machine running
slimserver.
MDK with 120Gb on the AMD machine.

The AMD machine doesn't need to be a fast one as it'll only be used for
writing documents, and browsing the internet. And to rip CDs into FLAC
for uploading to the MDK slimserver machine.

If I can do that I'll be happy.
