The Nano-ITX enviroment that SteveEast and I are using is small, but SlimCD fits easily with lots of room to spare. I have 1 GByte of IDE flash, and 256 Mbytes of RAM. I have filled about half of my flash drive. Aside from the DSL environment and Slimserver, I have added the XMMS music player, the Audacity recorder, the cdparanoia ripper, the Nedit editor, and maybe four or five more programs too:)
I am running samba, ssh, slimserver, a couple of aterms, presently formatting a new USB drive to ext2, and the thing just cruises along happily without a sweat - cpu usage right now is averaging only 10%. RAM usage is about 60%:) However - that is in fact about as high as I have ever seen RAM usage. It works like a real computer doing real work. Considering how small it is, it makes Vista look sick. -Ron -- Ron F. *Squeezebox setup:* wireless SB3 -> CI Audio VDA.2 DAC + VAC.1 PSU *Main rig:* NAD 7600 + NAD 2600A -> Phase Tech PC-6.5 speakers *Headphone rig:* Headroom Max -> Sennheiser 650s *Other stuff:* NAD C542 CDP, NAD 6300 Tape, Monster 5100 Power conditioner, Outlaw Audio cables ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ron F.'s Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5616 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35744 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
