At some point, I am going to have a dedicated server running SS, probably on some Linux variant, and I am focusing on Ubuntu. I think it would be cool if Slim/Logitech (either the company or the community) would create and maintain a Linux distro dedicated to all thing SlimServer. I would call it, obviously, *Slimbuntu*. I would envision this to be like Scibuntu which basically is Ubuntu pre-packaged with a bunch of useful scientific applications. In my mind, Scibuntu would be bundled not just with SlimServer, but with other useful and open-source media programs for ripping/converting/cataloging/etc. Also, Scibuntu would be "optimized" (whatever that would entail) for running SlimServer on standalone desktops or RAID/NAS devices. Well, I just thought this would be cool. I know someone will say, "Why don't you just do it?" Well, if I could, I probably would. Just an idea...
