Hi Greg. I have not monitored CPU usage, but I will try that later
today.  I don't recall how to? Will have to look.. I haven't used SSH in
a while..

Cable and switch are good quality and fine, I experience this issue in
different via different rooms/cables/network switches.

I am streaming FLAC, but happens with MP3 too.

The mystery lies within the fact that the Digi has no issue, while
headphone/USB always does.  I was doing some readying on the LAN
connection sharing a bus, but I'm not smart enough to draw conclusions
yet.
