Thanks George for pointing me in the right direction. I've turned off
under Settings > Advanced > File Types, Apple Lossless, Apple Lossless
from Native to Disabled!

I DON'T KNOW WHAT THIS SETTING DOES?

But even my brand new Raspberry Pi 2 Model B 1GB Hifiberry Digi+ 7"
touchscreen is PLAYING everything ;)
