I noticed quite a speed jump when I put OpenElec (KODI RPi Distro) on my Pi 3 GUI was much more responsive. However the Wifi did'nt even come up with either of my SSID's (But did find my neighbours) so something is weird with this. Will keep an eye on the temperature thoughafter you've said that.
