Thanks, Greg, I use Ethernet to configure the wifi settings, start a reboot, disconnect the cable and then nothing... no wireless connection and it cannot be seen by my router. Following your post I have even disabled the Ethernet via a tweak but still nothing. I get the same result on RPI3 and 3+. As I noted originally, I am using the Experimental RT Kernel, so it may be simply that it doesn't work.
