Hi Greg,
I have. Out of acrylic and wood. For acrylic I cut four strips and glued them together and then rounded them off. You can stack pieces to make the countersinking. For wood you ave a couple of options. You could take a board and route out an opening and then countersinking the screen using a dremel tool. I think the easiest way to make a surround is to get a piece of whatever wood you like in whatever thickness you want the surround to be and then cut the opening out with a coping saw rather than trying to route it out. Then route the countersinking with the dremel. I've even made some cases for my remotes out of zebrawood. Pain in the butt, but they looked nice. Howard P.S. I just ordered some black acrylic to make a case/stand that I can also put the pi in. The hardest part will be venting. I found the acrylic pretty inexpensively at HomeDepot believe it or not. gregklanderman wrote: > Howard, have you made surrounds for these sorts of display from > hardwood? Router?
