I recently bought a QUE 24x10x40x CD-RW firewire drive for my PM8500. I tried burning w/ it in OS X but it doesn't seem to work. I have toast 5.1.2. I also tried in iTunes, it sees the drive but won't burn. It reads fine and will burn in OS 9.1. It's a pain to have to reboot to burn CD's. I have a PM8500 w/ a sonnet 500mhz G3 card, a firewire/USB combo card, 384 MB RAM, an ATI Radeon 32MB and a 30 GB IDE drive that has OS X 10.1.4, however I only tried burning in 10.1.2 and 10.1.3 if that makes a difference.
