hello, still trying to get to grips with mail and wonder if i may have missed something....
i've had a couple of days off this week so when i came back there was well over 200 emails to download. when i clicked the 'check mail' button it did just that but only got about 35% through and then it hung..... i left it for five minutes while i started reading messages but then clicked the red 'stop button' in the status viewer. when i tried to check mail again mail downloaded duplicates of the emails!!! it hung again, i checked again and it did the same!! it seems that mail isnt bringing the the emails off the server onto my machine. because i check my mails on the road and at home and their all pop accounts, i've checked the 'delete messages on server' option in the prefs. but is this only deleting mails when i put them in my deleted folder?? it's all a bit confusing! cheers, jake -- Unsupported OS X is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Unsupported OS X list info <http://lowendmac.com/lists/unsupported.html> Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive <http://www.mail-archive.com/unsupportedosx%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
