One of the tricks I've heard to reformat a drive is to use Apple's own "erase disk" feature instead of a third party formatter. There is also a feature you might be able to use once your Jag install CD is booted. There's a built in utility in the menu items called "open disk utility" That might work as well for a reformat, but again, might only see it once it's been priorly erased with "erase disk"
Just thinking. Larry >i doubt that hd will work. OSX does not usually work with FWB drives. >assuming you tried to format it in OS9 and failed, try to format it >again with drive setup in os 9. now that it has been formatted in FWB, >it may work. > >or CharisMac Anubis. it will format a difficult drive and i don't think >it uses anything proprietary to do it. > >if you have an old copy of apples scsi drive formatter, that might do >the trick. i'm sure it is on their site available for download. > >i'm surprised OSX just doesn't see it as a drive that needs >reformatting and do it. -- -- Unsupported OS X is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Unsupported OS X list info <http://lowendmac.com/lists/unsupported.html> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:UnsupportedOSX@;mail.maclaunch.com> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:UnsupportedOSX-off@;mail.maclaunch.com> For digest mode, email: <mailto:UnsupportedOSX-digest@;mail.maclaunch.com> Subscription questions: <mailto:listmom@;lemlists.com> Archive <http://www.mail-archive.com/unsupportedosx%40mail.maclaunch.com/> --------------------------------------------------------------- >The Think Different Store http://www.ThinkDifferentStore.com ---------------------------------------------------------------
