I have a peculiar thing going on that I can't seem to figure out.
I'll also have to preface this by admitting that this issue is on my
G4/400 AGP machine and is not technically an "unsupported" issue.
I'm trusting that someone will be willing to help knowing the
expertise level here is outstanding.

I have Jaguar installed on an internal hard drive. It's on it the
onboard ATA controller. On an external firewire drive in an ADS
enclosure is a 30 gig HD with 9.2.2 installed on it. It has the
jumpers set to "master" I upgraded the firmware in the G4 and now
have the feature of a bootable firewire external hard drive. It will
boot from the FireWire just fine.

Here's my issue. When I boot from Jaguar, any other volumes I mount
are visible on the Jaguar desktop, ie, the FireWire drive, the Zip, a
CD, etc. No problem there.

Now...when I reboot or even cold boot the FireWire HD, the Jaguar
volume is NOT visible on the desktop. Fundamentally, it appears that
the 9.2 drive does not see the Jaguar disk at all. I even tried
putting the hard drive that's in the FireWire enclosure back into the
G4 as an internal drive and the same thing occurs. This does not
occur on my unsupported machine, which of course cannot boot an
external FireWire device, but all my volume are still visible
globally no matter what OS I boot from.

So...can anyone shed any light as to what might be happening. Why
can't my 9.2 system see Jaguar?

Thanks
Larry
