Ok, lets back up a bit. Is the partition on your ATA HD in the first 8 GB of the drive? With 10.2 and many ATA cards, the hardware is now correctly identified as IDE not SCSI, and so these machines fall prey to the same thing that plagues Beige G3's and early iMacs: OS X needs to be in an 8GB partittion at the beginning of the disk. Second. What ATA card are you using? If it's a Sonnet Tempo ATA133 or Trio card, there's a firmware update, version 3.25 that fixes these cards to work properly under 10.2. I was unable to boot from my ATA drive attached to the trio card until I did both of these things. -- Bruce Johnson University of Arizona College of Pharmacy Information Technology Group Institutions do not have opinions, merely customs -- Unsupported OS X is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Unsupported OS X list info <http://lowendmac.com/lists/unsupported.html> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive <http://www.mail-archive.com/unsupportedosx%40mail.maclaunch.com/> --------------------------------------------------------------- >The Think Different Store http://www.ThinkDifferentStore.com ---------------------------------------------------------------
