Hello, Thanks for all the responses to my problem. The reason you haven't heard from me sooner is because a greater problem arose that put my computer out of commission for a couple of days. When I was switching from my external drive with OS 10.1 to my internal drive with OS 9.1, I finished with a black screen. No matter what I did, I couldn't revive the picture. I read every book I had and tried all the suggestions to no avail. I changed the battery, checked all the connections, called a friend but no luck. Finally, I reread the manual that came with the computer. It mentioned problems with a black screen and said that one last thing that might help was to disconnect the SCSI connections and Zap the Pram. I did this, and it worked! This afternoon, I tried to restart in OS 10.1 and lost everything again. I Zapped the Pram and got back on. I'm not doing anything until I find out what is the problem. Any suggestions? Remember, I have the PowerMac 8500 and was getting lots of words before OS 10.1 opened. Sometimes it would freeze at the end of the words.
