my mistake, i am as human as the next. christianity isn't one of my specialties as it's not my faith and like any normal person, i am falable. none the less, the point stands. i was probably confused because the romans were good about exiling people as well. for that matter, i never considered the bible historically accurate, even before hitler and others rewrote it to serve there own ends. i'm much better versed on more recent history, history 2,000 years ago can really only be studied in college adequately and wasn't part of my majors. i am better versed on the last couple of hundred years and often defer to my brother who majored in history and often has a more complete knowledge.
besides, since when does egypt or rome count as western? those are both eastern/middle eastern countries and sadly i know only a little of the more recent history. i do know the history of the middle east back far enough to know it's the west that messed things up substantially, and to know that our allies the egytians were the first to use chemical weapons on their own people, putting down dissidents some 40 years ago. when you are perfect, swing that axe freely, in the meantime realize that we all make mistakes, and the mistake i made isn't relevant to the point i was making. never confuse a good argument for the truth, it may be those who poorly argue their point that are "correct" often, debates don't define truth, only the better debater. the 10 commandments was violent and bloody all around and far more perverse than even most violent movies. i do know that much of western culture was borrowed from the middle east, in architecture, philosophy, and even religion. i also know that the arabs had lenses and basic telescopes long before the west. it was the rediscovery of older middle eastern books that propelled the renasince to a large extent. also, please forgive the spelling, i just can't guess on some words, and the lack of capital letters is due to dyslexia/dysgraphia, and like most dyslexics i have an above average IQ, but you have to look at the message rather than the medium, the medium is not the message. in any case, just take it fyi, feel free to disagree, it makes neither you nor i any more foolish either way.
