i had 2 to 3 times the same kind of prob : macos X.2.3 freezes under some
circonstances, i'm unable to do anything more except restart the machine
over macos 9.1, when it works.

afterwards, i've tried using Altsoft diskwarrior or techtool pro to
repair the macos X partition without success.

at the time being, i'm planning to give up because i don't see any
solution. and because last time i've got a macos X freeze this even
destroyed the macos 9 partition and more another disk (scsi) wasn't any
more able to mount...

My setup :

ppc 9500 + crescendo g4 400 mhz + ata tempo 60 mhz

disk in use : an ide ibm 60 go attached to the ata tempo ide card.

partition map :

Partition map (with 512 byte blocks) on '/dev/scsi2.2'
