And I've run Mac OS 6.0.8 in 8 MB of RAM on a IIx with Illustrator 88 and
Quark 2.0 open at the same time. Worked fine. It was memory starvation if I
had to load Digital Darkroom, I had to quit the other two to load it.

We ran a prepress app in 8 MB of RAM on a Sun 4/370 on top of Sun OS 4.1.0.
That's memory starvation.

The thing that will make more difference than RAM interleaving is to move
to a 66 MHz or higher system bus than the 50 MHz one where RAM interleaving
is involved.
