Absolutely. I used to run 7.5.5 in *12MB,* in fact, and it was highly 
usable for what I wanted at that point - writing a few letters and playing 
CDs, on a Performa 5200.

That was the OS and RAM as shipped with the machine, as a matter of 
interest.
