Yup, AIX is a good suggestion, too.

Do we have all this already? If you know of a way to run (say) a shrink-wrapped YD Linux binary on OS X, please point me to the link and I'll try it out.

thnx

Linux on Mac OS X isn't about function, it's about credibility. Even if
OS X were to develop a Linux binary compatibility layer (and so far,
none of you have said the notion is *technically* flawed) I doubt it

compatibility to the community at large, especially the business
community. "All this, and Linux apps too".

We already *have* "all this and Linux apps too".

If Apple is looking at emulation on the Power architecture, then what they
should be looking at is not Linux, it's AIX.
