You should boot with verbose (command-V). This will bypass the Login WIndow (which you are hanging at.) and allow you to run the Damage Control app and remove PCI Extreme. I have had to do this before, and apply the PCI Extreme hack by manually changing the config file. (instructions on this at resexcellence.com)
