I have a G4 Sawtooth (AGP) 350 mHz. I want to use it with GarageBand 2, Logic Pro 7, and ProTools LE, under Tiger.
I'm currently using it with GB 2 with no serious problems, but I will either need to do some serious upgrading of this machine now, or wait until I can afford a new G5. And I realize nothing can be done about bus speed.
But, reliability is critical. I want to produce sound bytes, apple loops, multi-media work, and animation sequences for sale, and can't afford time to deal with incompatibility problems.
I'm sure many of you here have dealt with this type of upgrade. I've looked at some of the upgrade wares, but I'd like to know what the real-world results are for use in a small but professional project studio, and what products I should choose for this machine if I want to go ahead with an upgrade.
