Hi List. I have a 9600/G4/700/1.5gb running 10.3.9. I have a generic usb card with a 8 port hub using one port on the card. When I start my Mac my usb printer attached to the hub does not show up in the printer list. I have to re-instal it. That points me to thinking that OSX with xpostfacto doesn't poll the card or the hub after startup. I'm asking the guru's here if they can point me to corrective action. BTW my wireless mouse is on the other card port and works.

Just a quick question - is the hub powered? USB cards in 7500-9600 Macs seem to need the bus to be powered-up in order to recognize attached 'thingies'

The plug-in card has very low power capacity and will normally not recognize anything on the other side of an unpowered hub. Much grief has come from this when people have tried to run say a scanner or consistently a Palm cradle this way.

Get a powered hub and you should be golden.
