I have to re-instal it. That points me to thinking that OSX with

the guru's here if they can point me to corrective action. BTW my
wireless mouse is on the other card port and works.

Hi Dennis,

I have almost the exact same setup 9600/700/1.4G with a 7 port hub connected to a MacAlly USB card.
My Epson 82 is recognized just fine as is my Epson 1520 even if I start them after the system is already booted.
I am however running the vanilla 10.3 without updates so there may be something in an update that makes the difference.

Have you tried putting the printer on the port straight from the USB card and the mouse on the hub port?

Hi Kris,
Been doing did some changes as you suggested.
First I changed my mouse from the card to the hub. It worked. Great. Then I rebooted (cold and restart) and I could not get past the warning screen to reboot. Then I disconnected the mose from the hub and it boots fine. Leaving the mouse disconnected I connected the printer to the now free port on the card. Voila the printer now comes to life.
This all defeats the pupose of USB. To quote mickeysoft, plug and play. Again, I'm not an expert here and therefore assume that after booting, 10.3.9 does not poll the hub connected to the card. Or the generic card is geriatric. Any more hints?
Dennis
