Yes, but I don't think it matters. It is a question of the connection being powered-up for two-way communication being possible.


I do know that most problems went away after using a powered hub. A simple rule, If the connection works when plugged directly into the port on the 'puter' card or otherwise, but does not work when plugged into the hub, then the solution is to use a powered hub.
