I asked the question of you as I have read many posts on the PCI
list and the Powerbooks list in the past 5 years
from users who insist on running the latest OS on a machine that
cannot handle the RAM overhead and / or the cpu demands. For a
while they brag of their accomplishment and then sometime later cry
for help and wonder why their unbalanced system crashes, freezes or
otherwise provides no joy.
I gave the memory disk and cpu specs in the first line of my post.
Until two days ago Apple sold brand new machines running Tiger with
less RAM. Other machines (e.g. Pismo, iMac DV) that are different
only in having Firewire and USB ports and maybe 100 more MHz are
still officially supported in Tiger. Your questions could not be
both knowledgeable and serious.
I, however, accept your word that you were serious and apologize for
making an incorrect assumption.
