Why?  Blue and White memory ain't any different than the G4 memory.

In one case, it is. The G4s can handle 512MB SDRAM DIMMS which have higher density modules on them while the B&Ws can only handle max 256MB SDRAM DIMMS with lower density chips on them. Put a 512MB in a B&W and the best you can hope for is seeing only 256MB, the worst is it won't work: crashes, etc. This is not a defect in the B&Ws, their RAM controllers were never designed to access the higher density chips and PCs of the same era have the same limitations.
