The HD Corruption Tool mentioned on Xlr8yourmac is a piece of crap. It'll report the same problems on G4's. The code does not take into account whether the OS reports an error back. Decent code would check whether read, writes, etc. succeeded, instead of just assuming, oh-it-must-be-fine.
