Still no go. Wondering if its better to pull HD, transplant to
working G3, Carbon Copy Clone the OSX startup volume for/from that
machine, and then transplant drive back & boot it w/XPF?
Or install OSX w/ the bundled OSX version (the one compatible w/gray
G3s), and upgrade from apple? On-line (Downloads) or CD, w/XPF?

I just got done installing OS X on a Beige G3 tower and once or twice=20
this issue came up during installation and the various updates I ran.=20
There's a Radeon Mac Edition installed rather than the internal video.=20=
All I did was do was a restart after the first boot failed and reset=20
the pram one time. That got the video back and it's been fine since=20
then.

This is very frustratting. Came as long as to choose disks, and got=20
told that OSX has to be on the first 8 gigs. Reformatted disk, now=20
black screen every time XPF tries to install X.
Plenty of RAM (512 MB), machine of the G3 type that sits in a 8600=20
casing.
I have OS9 on one partition, and use that as helper (Also XPF on that=20=
disk).
Restart w/XPF, & all I get is a black screen (no video signal out).
Rom revision $77D.45F2
6 MB VRAM, 1 MB L2 cache.
Any suggestions?
