I am a senior citizen 75 and not too tech savvy who would like to move
up from 9.2 to OS X. Have the two legitimate Apple discs to do so but
have a problem.
I insert disc one and no icon shows up on the desk top. I need to know
how I can get the icon on so that can click on to it and start the
installation.

I tried to install last week this way:

Put disc one in the CD tray, icon popped up. I healed the "c" key down
and restarted my G/300 mini tower, installation began. Was interrupted
when installation of disc was almost complete. I let go of the "c" key.

Now I put the disc in and get no action or sound from the CD tray and
no icon appears on the desk top.

Any help appreciated, Richard in San Diego
