The most important thing missing from the education of most web 
programmers is database experience.  Companies will tend to help new 
guys more with the web frontend stuff, as that is more visible, so the 
marketing guys see it. :)  I've seen many, many web programmers with 
several years experience who didn't really understand SQL queries.

It should probably be a separate course, though, so I wouldn't expect 
someone who'd only taken 1 course to have that experience.
