Mark,
Great to hear it is working! We (Timo and I) are looking into reading custom channels; but not much progress, yet.

Thankz for compliment; much more to come with this one : )

Hi all,

In the meantime I tried the idea of using a custom channel to assign individual properties to a bunch of objects, and in the VSL this is used to scale a single material to each object individually. A quick and efficient way to get individual object variation with a single material - I never realized this was so easy. Scaling is just one example of what can be done here...

I'd hate to modify "myvectorchannel" for each of the spheres manually in a big scene, so I used Map2Obj for this: if it works for nine spheres (attachment) it should work for hundreds or thousands ;) This is where the script might come in one day... but a lot can be done now with Map2Obj; as usual the only limit is the imagination! I'm going to apply all this to big Nurnie levels generated by RealGreeblez ;)

If anyone is interested and wants a quick tut, let me know.
