Correct. It was certainly not for commercial reasons, especially
since this happened before EE even existed in our minds :)
I think Giancarlo is misled by the fact that the main difference is
in the nodetypes definitions, and because afaik neither JCR nor
Jackrabbit currently provide a way of updating existing nodetypes
(that's hopefully coming up with jcr2)
If one wanted to blame Magnolia for going commercial, I think the
vanishing of the 'multiple subscribers' option would be a better
point.
This will be back in 3.1 or 3.2 :)
