True. But FWIW, we found in 2012 that this setup is a hassle to configure (i.e. 
provisioning user accounts on demand) and won’t scale to large numbers of users 
(or subsets of users, if you partition that way.)

The Sync Gateway is replication-compatible with CouchDB. I think it’s as 
relevant to mention here as, say, PouchDB.
