I have even gone as far as deleting the entirety of ~/.IntelliJIDEA10/system as well. I shall now resort to seeing if the JetBrains folk have any clues. I guess I now have to delete the whole of ~/.IntelliJIDEA10. I note that the Maven plugin rewrites the iml file to change the out output directory to target.
