How much RAM does the machine have?

This run shows poor performance and vmstat output indicates wait times
are rising. Could you please check the number of dirty and writeback
pages during a run with poor performance? See

suspect this is due to Linux kernel writing out pages to disk when it
should not (killing performance on the sequential writes to the log).
