Jason, here's my feedback: This morning I took a fresh look at the wiki and the new features, and I'm quiite impressed. Installed 0.9.0, playing around with it on our larger projects (to determine whether MNGECLIPSE-480 still hurts) for some hours now.
Some remarks: 1. Sometimes it's not clear for me, what the various maven-related actions are actually doing. It would help much to have a short description of an action somewhere at a very public place (Maybe such things are somewhere hidden in the wiki or somewhere else). Currently, Im not sure about the effect of "Update Dependencies" in the Popup Menu. Does it mean, it rebuilds the Maven Classpath Container or does it try to get fresh versions from the Maven-Shared Repo ? Also: what is "Update Source Folders" about ? Does it change the Eclipse-project to have "src/main/java" etc as Source Folders, or does it something different ? 2. Performance *IS* a topic for us. We are very intereseted in the effectiveness of our developers, and when they have to wait, and dont understand, why, it's not good. This is the main reason for filing MNGECLIPSE-480. As it turns out now, the problem STILL happens from time to time, that our (large) modules ARE rebuilt after an eclipse-restart (I hope I can reopen/update that issue later today, when the situation gets clearer for me). At the moment I'm not yet ready to pass along the new version to all our developer's, as most of them are NOT maven-experts, and they heavily rely on my/our "best practices" like "keep projects opened, dont restart eclipse, do a clean" etc) 2.1. As was already stated: Opening a project seems to be slower in 0.9.0. 3. I'm happy to see that I can switch the maven-version for the "Run as" mvn-commands. Now these commands are getting usable for us. To sum up: New Features are good (and I'm very happy to see that m2eclipse makes progress..), but also, please, spend time to ensure that the existing features are running smoothly. I'm interested in seeing if we're moving toward something that people are happy using. Any comments would be welcome. We will try to publish a roadmap of features, and we'll definitely be putting resources behind having schedule and stable releases.
