Hi there guys, I am using the previous version of OM prior to the current upgrade... which will probably solve my issue... but just in case...
I am in a rare situation where some of my users are in the same office environment... and as a result there is the obvious sound / audio feedback. They are using multiple devices so my natural recommendation would be to “mute all users”... except me... when I want to speak... especially for longer periods of time... and then when I want user “x” to participate I would ask user “x” to “unmute” and talk... and when he/she is finished to “mute” unfortunately when I “mute all users” it also mutes me (the moderator). My work-around is to inform the participants in advance that I will “mute everybody” to eliminate echo and feedback and then ask them to individually “unmute” me... and then them etc. Again this is a rare scenario that might have slipped the net... the alternative would be to have external speakers for the audio (muting everyone... except the moderator) and using a.... for example... a conference microphone... to pick up on what each individual is saying... whereby on designated user in the group activates audio / mic etc but then in this situation it is quite difficult to know who is speaking... as that microphone is connected to one user’s computer. Any suggestions, work-arounds on this? I know the ideal situation would be for the participants to find different isolated positions in the building to work from... but I assure you... in this situation it is not physically possible... even though I am told they are taking Covid seriously. And honestly, I’ve exhausted all of these measures with the company. However, some of the workers do not have access to computers at home and as a result will share an office environment with a projector and so on. Please do not let this posting turn into something other than a tech and application usage recommendation / suggestion... because I’m honestly, I am tired, emotionally and mentally drained. Finally @Maxim and @Sebastian... on a totally different note... I had a game of Chess on OM with my son recently (without screen sharing) ... which was fun... a little bit Mickey Mouse... but it worked... which makes me think we should open an “applications” usage group for OM... showing its practicality rather than anything else... whereby users can upload/download workable ideas, classes, ideas ... etc from the platform.... As an English teacher and exhausted business owner... hopefully this message will inspire...
