I was able to copy root’s public key to the list of authorized keys. That got me past the error.
However, after the image capture and subsequent reload on the VM host, I see the computer in the list always on “reloading” state. It has been reloading for quite a while now. I expect it to time out eventually. It goes almost all the way through image capture and reload. I logged into windows as root, ran the config script successfully. I executed Gen-node-key script and tried the SSH command successfully.
