The Desktop team is using license file format like the attached one we use for liboil. We use a header that provides the module name, version number and tracking number before the license text. My reading of the requirements was that the license file had to contain all this info. But, perhaps the name and version can also reasonably be figured out from the package in other ways.
See my reply to Petr: http://mail.opensolaris.org/pipermail/userland-discuss/2012-March/003449.html We (engineering) really would like to automate this so we don't have to continually go back and change it every time we up-rev the component, but we could not persuade our legal representative to allow us to do that.
Should we be using a more common format across Userland & Desktop?
I think what you've got there is fine. The only real difference I can see is that Userland components have a little "box" around the name/version (which is all on one line). I don't know how that started. I suspect one person did it, and then everybody else followed suit. _______________________________________________ userland-discuss mailing list userland-discuss@opensolaris.org http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/userland-discuss
