To this end,
I am trying to get a feel for what I can do with merlin and so
have tried to get it "up and running" by downloading and
compiling from CVS but currently the build is failing.
Before upgrading maven the failure was the test:test goal in
merlin-core but not its the test:test goal in merlin-jmx.
Your plugging-in a moment of relative instability. We are right in the middle of pulling out the Merlin meta-info model and pushing that into an Avalon Meta Model. Evey few hours things get a little out of sync. I have just updated the ibiblio repositiory with the very latest build of the sandbox/meta package so in principal the merlin system should build without having to build the meta package. But I would recommend following the suggestions from Aaron - checkout and build sandbox/meta before building merlin.
