I agree 100%. For a true beginner, or someone who is exploring the technology (comparing vs other solutions etc) they are most likely looking for an example and description that is well organized that they can print out. There is a wealth of info in the mail archives but sometimes it is mass chaos and drives people away who might otherwise start trying the technology. I don't think I have enough knowledge about merlin to document it well yet, but eventaully, I will be glad to help document stuff, becuase I have years of "corporate" software development experience (which means I do a LOT of documentation and have gotten pretty good at it) Regarding javadocs, I agree that they are helpful (and I would like to think they should be required) but I believe that the most helpful javadocs are those that include simple examples as well in their comments.
