Hi Matthew,

this is a (sadly) well known problem we are fighting against, with no success so far. The database sometime get corrupted. We have added a 'repair' option that will try to get the database back on its feet, this is something you can try instead of using the 'start' option when starting the server. What it does is that it reads the master database and recreate all the indexes (if possible). You can try restarting the server to see if it works. Otherwise, the only solution is to reload the database from a backup.

I'm currently working on cutting a release where we have added transaction support, expecting that will solve this issue.

Hi there,

Sorry to change the subject part way through this thread.

We have a major problem with our apacheds directory now. For some reason only a portion of the user accounts are visible when querying the directory. We have around 7500 user records, but the directory is only showing around 2200 and most user auths are failing.

We had this problem a couple of days ago and restored from a recent backup to fix the issue, which it did for a while, but now it has reoccurred.

Help - no one can log into our applications...

Matthew

Regarding authentication, there is no index (beside the RDN index) that is used. We directly are fetching the entry, and check the password. There is no reason for authentication to be slow if there is some missing index. There must be something else going on, and logs could help understanding what.

Also it would be interesting to get some CPU stats.
