There is no Skin class in my project's folder. None of my skins have names that are the same as any sdk skin.
Most of the components using the skins eventually fail with a null object error and in the debugger I can see that the ultimate cause of the problem seems to be that it can't find the Skin class and the address it's looking at is in my project's skins folder.
